Located on a converted rail-trail, the Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail offers 39 miles of paved trail. The trail begins at Lime Valley Road near State Highway 14, joins the Minnesota River Trail in Mankato, follows a signed route on city streets through Waterville, passes through three miles of Sakatah Lake State Park, and ends east of Interstate 35 in Faribault. It is generally level and wheelchair accessible.

An 842-acre state park of Minnesota, USA, on a natural widening of the Cannon River near the town of Waterville. The Dakota native to the area called it “Sakatah” which means “singing hills”. To honor this native heritage, some of the trails in the park have been given Dakota names. The Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail, which connects Faribault and Mankato, runs through this park.

Maiden Shade course has 21 holes laid out on a pristine piece of our property, adorned with beautifully aged Burr Oak trees. The course layout was designed by Chuck Kennedy well known to golf enthusiast in Minnesota. Maiden Shade offers a unique challenge at each hole, concrete pads to throw from, with twists and turns and straight always giving the beginners and the seasoned golfers a fun and memorable workout.

Irreplaceable century-old machinery stands side by side with modern technology in our “new” mill, which was built in 1892.
